This facility is only available to the following customer types:
Residential (scale 003 & Scale 004)
Business & General: ( Scale001,002,021,005,006,007)

NB. This facility is not available to Time of Use and Bulk customers.

This is a common meter used is most business and residential installation.
Reading of this meter is relatively straightforward.
Note that this meter have register has 5 integers and a decimal.
The reading must be taken from left to right. The reading shall consist of 5 integers only. The decimal must not be included in the reading. Please include any preceding zeros.
In this example, the reading on this meter is: 90606.9 but the reading that must be submitted is: 90606

This meter register has 6 integers. Please note that there is no decimal.
The reading shall consist of 6 integers only. In this example the reading to be submitted is:999999

This meter is commonly referred to as a “clock” meter.
Reading this meter can be tricky. The reading on the meter in this picture is 81359. If you have difficulty in reading this type of meter,
you may send an email, with your account number to custocare@elec.durban.gov.za to request that the meter be replaced.
