Please take note of the following:

• 1. Read day:eThekwini Water endeavors to read its meters on a monthly basis to ensure timeous reading and billing of the reading.
• 2. Routine reads: Readings will still be done by the Department and Routine Readings will take precedence over the reading submitted by customer.
• 3. Reading of Meters: Whilst customers are encouraged to submit their own meter reading, eThekwini Water endeavors to read/obtain readings on monthly basis. eThekwini Water looks forward to your cooperation in allowing its meter readers access to read the meter. It should be noted that refusal to allow officials access to the meter/equipment during reasonable hours is a breach of eThekwini Water Supply Bylaws.
• 4. Reading: can be captured on the date range as per days allowed column above.
• 5. Reading:All reading submitted are subjected to an audit process.
• 6.Identification meter reader eThekwini Water employees and contractors are required to display their eThekwini Water Identity cards on their person at all times. Contractor Identity cards bare the contractor details and an expiry date. Any person not able to produce a valid Identity card, or produces an expired card may be refused entry.
• 7. Photo taken must also include the meter number, not just the reading .
